Due to unprecedented smoke from the Camp Fire and its unhealthy impact on everyone in the Nor Cal region, the competition dates for this year's event have been extended two extra weeks.
The new swim date cutoff is now Dec. 14 and the online entry deadline is Dec. 24.

This traditional DAM event has a new identity in recognition of it's founder, Ross Yancher. Ross, the Davis Aquatic Masters head coach from 1981 to 1988, passed away in 2016 and in his memory, the event was renamed.

The 10th Annual Postal Brute Squad competition begins Thursday, Nov 1 and runs the entire month. The event (200 Fly, 400 IM and 1650 Free swum back-to-back-to-back) attracts nearly 200 athletes each year with upwards of half being DAM members.

The Brute Squad meet information and registration links are online.
The entry fee is $10. Swim the event and then enter yourself online. Each swimmer must have a lap counter/split taker and swim only one or two-to-a-lane, no drafting allowed. The second swimmer per lane begins their swim after the first swimmer completes the butterfly portion of the event.

This reminds me of a challenge set we did in college every year. Coach called it, fittingly enough, "high school meet." You do the entire high school event lineup in order (200 fr, 200 IM, 50 fr, 100 fly, 100 fr, 500 fr, 100 bk, 100 br), no rest, getting out to dive in between each "event."
400 IMer/200 backstroker in another life, now sprinter/breaststroker... Yeah, I don't know how that happened either!
