    Masters Swim Coach online

    Hi everybody

I am a 45 year woman swimming 4-5 times a week in a 50meter pool for about 4000m/5000m. I want to train for national championships in march and for the world Masters Championship in august, on events 200 freestyle (goal 2:24:00), 200 IM (goal 2:43:00), and 100 200 breastroke (goal 1:24:00 and 3:02:00).
I am looking for a swim coach online because there is not master team where I live and I think my training is not adapted. The problem is that I always swam the same sets and didn't really make progress... so I need a real swimming training program and a dryland/weight program too..
Could you send me some advise or do you know a coach who's doing this???

Hi there - I run a Masters Swim Program in New York. I would be more than happy to talk with you about how I can help you.

Have you followed / tried the workouts here - http://forums.usms.org/forumdisplay.php?95-Workouts?

Also, IMHO, focus less on the volume and more on intensity. You're aiming to race short events, so you will probably get far more results from 4-5 workouts at 2500-3000 meters with a high focus on race-pace training vs. long workouts like you're doing now. Also - and this is my opinion - until you're at the point where you can dedicate more than 8-10 hours a week on training, if your focus is swimming fast, skip the drylands/weights and stick to the pool.
