Q times seem much faster than the average they claim to use to calculate them! I M H O

Pretty easy to double check us, Oz...committee members double checked the figures before we published them, so please feel free to verify.

Hi Jim. Last year I finished 4th in the 1,650 with a time of 28:07.24 and this year can't even get in Q time of 26:24.65 age 70-74.
That is quite a time drop in my bracket. I am trying to get a faster time this year to try to get in.

Hi Oz. Your 4th place Mesa finish placed you 27th on the Rankings List which is used to generate the Top Ten list from which the Q times are calculated. The Men's 70-74 2018/19 Top Ten 10th place was 23:11.37; 2017/18 was 23:53.39; 2016/17 was 24:57.00. These times average to a hair slower than 24 minutes (24:00.59). We add 10% (2:24.06) to that average arriving at the Q time of 26:24.65.

Just thought I'd double check the calc for this event to put your mind at ease and so you'd know the goal time to achieve isn't an error...

OK I did not realize that the top ten was overall in the year not just the event. I need to age up in 1 1/2 years to make the next q times. Thanx for the info,

For any meet directors who may be interested, attached to this post is a Meet Manager Time Standard file for the San Antonio NQTs that you may wish to import for your SCY meets this season. I had to Zip the file to be able to post on the Forums - you may have to extract the file from the Zip before importing to MM.

I am now seeing why each age group has slower Q times than , when younger, seemed so easy to get.
At the top end of each age I seem to be slowing down faster that I thought I would!!
