Head Masters Swim Coach - Asphalt Green, NYC
Asphalt Green Masters is currently seeking a head coach to lead our
Masters Swimming program. We are looking for a dedicated, organized
team leader to help build our program.

About Asphalt Green Masters:
Asphalt Green is the premier swimming facility in New York City and one
of the few 50 meter swimming pools in the New York Area. Founded in
1993, Asphalt Green has an 85 member Masters team with room for more.
We are proud of our national champion swimmers as well as our folks who
are new to the competitive aspect of swimming. The Asphalt Green
Masters program is part of the AGUA Competitive Swimming program that
boasted three Olympic Trials Qualifiers in 2004.

Position Summary:
The primary role of the head coach is to be the Leader of this team,
someone to motivate, to teach and to create success for our team
members. The head coach will run at minimum 10 hours of swim practice
per week and be the administrative manager of the team. The head coach
will act as the main communicator between the team and the Aquatics
Director and Staff at Asphalt Green.

The ideal candidate will be a creative coach who understands the needs
of highly competitive swimmers as well as the goals and priorities of
new swimmers. The Head Coach must have complete knowledge of and
experience with competitive swimming including recent stroke
enhancements and Masters Swimming rules. The Asphalt Green team
members compete in Masters Swimming Meets, Open Water Swimming Events
and Triathlons, our head coach must be willing and able to support the
team members in these activities as well as understand the fitness goals
of our non competitive groups.

Responsibilities:
Create a year round training program for the team, manage a coaching
schedule to ensure coverage of all practices, provide swimmer feedback
and manage stroke clinics.

Conduct administrative duties including registration of Masters Team
members, attendance and USMS registration.

Staff and run 2-3 swim meets per year.

Direct the hiring, managing and development of the Assistant Coaching
staff.

Work with the Aquatics staff and the team members to develop an
independent web site, a travel opportunity for the team and a dry land
fitness program.

Promote Asphalt Green programming and community.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Up to Date certifications in CPR, First Aid and Water Safety
- ASCA Level 2 or above
- Past coaching experience
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
