Question USMS Nationals Tempe, AZ

When will on-line registration be available? Should entries be mailed in or should entrants wait for the on-line format?

The on line entry system is ready to go and Mark just got word today that the merchant account has been approved. Once we get all the details of the account, we'll put it together and make it available for you to use. It should be available in the next day or two. If anything is lacking from the company issuing the account tomorrow, we may have to wait until Monday at the latest to get this information.

I would like to encourage everyone to use the online entry system. One of the main advantages for the swimmer is that you will get an email confirmation listing your events as soon as you finish. With the online system, there is no worrying if your entry got to me. As an added bonus, you make me happy because I have less data entry to do.

Thanks,

Mark Gill

On line entries for this meet are now available at http://www.usms.org/comp/scnats03/onlineentry.shtml . You may enter on line by electronic check (US swimmers only) or by credit card using your Visa or MasterCard. Electronic checks are easy to use and are encouraged due to the lower fees to the meet host.

Nationals Entries...

I heard a couple of rumors about the AZ National meet that I would love to get some confirmation or denial on (Mark / Jim??)..

1. There are over 2700 entrants for the meet.

2. The 6th event rule WILL be enforced (after this weekend, that may not be a bad thing for me personally..) and maximum entries for this meet will be 5.

There was a lot of buzz around our State Championships this weekend about this and I would like to either quell the rumors if they are that or validate them if they are true.

Better watch out.. Rocky Mountain Masters is send a very large, very fast group of swimmers to the meet based upon relay signups and verbal word of mouth!

Thanks!

Nope, there seems to be less than 2000 entries - Mark is doing the final tallying now and combining on line entries and paper entries, so we'll know the official number soon. About 2 weeks ago the pace of entries we were receiving made it look like the meet could be as big as you said. It turned out that people were just being more reasonable this time around about getting their entries in earlier than at the last minute. Thanks, all!

There has been nothing said about the sixth event decision yet. Once the entries are all together, the timelines with and without the sixth event will be looked at in order to make this decision.

Mark,

Not to rush you, but when will you have a roster of participating swimmers available? The sooner I know who's coming, the sooner I can start putting together relays!

Thanks,

Meg

Many, many thanks to Mark and company for the great meet. A good time was had by all (as far as I could tell!).

I lucked out where I swam all 6 events and 1 relay in the odd course.

Mark - where do we send the twenty bucks to thank you for setting that bulkhead on the odd course at 24 yards?

Lastly, our team didn't realize we got 3rd place in one of the team categories until we got home and saw the results online (we're not the sharpest group). If there is a banner I can pick it up from you in San Diego. Our pool will be closed for the summer due to repairs so there is no hurry.
