Virtual Gridges

Since I, a Colonies Zone resident, am defecting for the lovely scenery to be found at the Great Lakes zone the weekend of SCM Zones and do not want to deprive any fellow Colonies Zone resident who is participating in the Colonies Zone SCM meet from throwing down with me. So here it is.

And no Jim, I am not gridging you in the 400 IM. I yield on that score.

My events:

200 IM - No idea of best time, have never swam this as a master in any course. I'm hoping to go under 2:40.
50 Fly - 28.83 previous best in June
100 IM - (1:09.00 seed) swam once in SCM, went 1:10.46 at Rutgers 07 but deeked due to a false start
100 Free - 59.17 previous best in June
50 Back - 33.49 previous best in June
50 Free - 26.45 previous best in June
100 Fly - 1:05.99 (converted from SCY and padded a little)

So for those swimming at Rutgers who wish to virtual gridge or those swimming the Tyr Chicago who wish to physically gridge, I welcome any and all comers!!!!!!!!!

Hey, Fort, wanna go lowest split differential in 100 Fly?

The sad thing is, even with her going for a 50 split, she might still win that bet. At least, based on your LAST swim...

Maybe you could gridge someone off the 50 breast split in your IM? Does Fort swim (the longer) IM's?

Based on your 1:10 - 100IM, you should go well under 2:40, imo.

Re: Virtual Gridges

I'll throw this one out there - perhaps a gridge between HULK and Mark Gill in the 100 free?

Oh please. Mark's going DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN.

I must avenge my losses to him at LCM Nats in both the 50 Free and 50 Fly.

The thought is rather comical. lol I barely even swim the 100 IM ... But at least I know I can beat Julie in the 100 breast ... See how cocky I am now after my blazing 15.9 in the 25 evilstroke?

You've blown by your times from IGLA, Paul. PB gridges would not be fair! How about the 100 IM -- your seed time vs. my PB (1:15.2, I think). Gridge is who's the furthest under? I think that would be very close.

Sure, sounds good to me. Now if I only I can shake whatever this crud is that kicked me in the teeth yesterday (and is still kicking today)

Had no idea I was being talked about. I'm not gridging anyone until I'm back in shape...

Went 1:08.06 (seed was 1:09.00) so that's only a .94 sec difference. I think I might be in trouble.

Now now, Wolf Girl. You can check the times. I went 1:15.2 at the U of Md, Dec. 2006. It's pretty comparable to my 1:06.8 at Austin actually. In fact, I've been stuck on roughly the same IM time for years. Dunno what happened here, just felt pretty good. Must have been the Jolt gum Jim supplied!

Not so I would say. Weren't you feeling ill last week yet you managed to get there and swim anyway? Plus, I see you got well under that 2:40 you were shooting for in the 200IM.

Anyway, you get kudos imo for getting your butt there and up off the blocks when you were probably fighting that internal battle of "I could just stay home" .

No one gets to go to every meet feeling on top of the world, but many won't go if they don't feel that "right" way. Know what I mean?

Fort - speaking of "Tech Suit Fan(s)", you must save me a spot in your club. I set 6 personal best SCM swims this weekend in LB and my B70 now has approximately 29 races in it, and is holding up VERY nicely. Some of the swims were "third time's the charm", so it's not like the newness of the suit is having much effect.

1:07.44 100IM; 2:25.63 200IM; 2:07.78 200fr; 1:14.44 100br; 2:33.09 200ba and 1:05.89 100fly. My 7th event was my best time in the age group, 5:13.35 400IM.

Ande let me borrow his "racing helmet", that hard cap ("wrinkle free" except for the pained expression on my face!) - it pinches your ears like the dickens, for the 100 breast. You can't hear squat (I had my regular cap under it) but at least the pain it creates takes the focus away from your pain in your arms and legs - I think. I don't think it made the 22-hundredths difference that I beat Allen with but he may disagree. Thanks Ande.

Jim, those are just awesome times! My B70 seems to be holding up well too. I tried the Aqua V cap. Patrick Brundage and I agreed that it gave us insta-headaches. And I couldn't hear well on my 50 free. Everyone was on the blocks and I was just standing there like an idiot ...

Wait a minute ... Allen had a LZR but not the Aqua V cap?! lol

I dropped a lot in my 50 fly too, down to 29.99, but I don't think it was the cap either!
