Qualifying times for SCY, LCM Nationals

Is there a consistent area this information is posted? If there is a URL, can this information be posted to this forum?

TIA,

Chris

Qualifying times are posted with each year's meet information, and are available on this site for all national meets since 1998. Results for all national meets since 1994 are also available. See http://www.usms.org/comp/results.htm for links to all of the nationals information that we have available. This page will always point to the most recent set of available information.

Since 1998, the information for each nationals meet has always been stored in a /comp/scnatsXX or /comp/lcnatsXX folder, where scnats is for the SCY meet and lcnats is for the LCM meet and XX is the year. For example, the information on the 2001 meets is available at http://www.usms.org/comp/scnats01/ and http://www.usms.org/comp/lcnats01/ . Yes, we will have a problem after 100 years of nationals, but we have some time to resolve that. During the preparation and review period for each meet (before the information is made publicly available), these folders may be unavailable or password protected - please wait for the announcement of their availability.

The NQT's for each meet since 1998 are all available in these areas. The file name for these NQT's has been a little different over time, and I reserve the right to use a different file name or file type from meet to meet as technology changes or due to other circumstances. For 1998, the NQT's were stored in files called nqtsc.shtml and nqtlc.shtml for the short and long course meets. For 1999-2001, the file name for all meets was nqt.shtml. For 2002, it is nqt.php (see http://www.usms.org/comp/scnats02/nqt.php).

Hope this helps. I do not have one common file for short course and one for long course that is overwritten each year - this would lead to confusion in my opinion. For instance, if someone looked up the SCY NQT in September to set a goal for what they need to achieve in their upcoming SCY season, they would be looking at LAST year's NQT, not this year's. They may not know this and could be sadly disappointed in March when they go to sign up for the meet and find out that they don't qualify when they thought they did. I also try not to delete any old information that may be useful as a reference point - someone may wish to study the progression of NQT's over the years, and all of the data is readily available.

Also note that according to the rule book, the Championship Committee determines whether or not there will be NQT's in any given year and if so, what the NQT's will be. This decision is not finalized until the annual convention. Therefore, there may not be NQT's for a given national championship and if there are NQT's, they will never be available until at least some time in the fall prior to the meet.
