Smile Bonaire EcoSwim

I just saw the artcile in Swim Magazine about the Bonaire EcoSwim. I also went to Bonaire some years ago and loved it. I'll definitely put it on my calander! Thanks!

Cold Weather - Warm Water

As the weather starts to get a little cold, and as you look for a year end swim, consider the Bonaire EcoSwim on Dec 7th. With some of the worlds most beautuful reefs just offshore this gem of an island in the Dutch Caribbean offers an excellent choice.....info and entry posted here:

Cool

I am looking for a swimming vacation and I found this posting. Are there still openings? I have not been to Bonaire. Is it a good place to vacation after the swim? Is the swim competitive? Sorry for so many questions. Thank you.

The perfect swimming vacation!!!

Registration is still open for the 2nd Annual Bonaire Ecoswim at:

http://www.randynutt.com/aqua9.html

Last year the competition attracted world class swimmers and amateurs alike, and everyone took a few extra days to explore this gem of an island. There are beautiful protected reefs that offer perfect diving and snorkeling opportunities. The island is small enough that you can rent a scooter or mountain bike and explore one end to the other. The locals share their island with lots of wild donkeys that might walk up to you as you exit the ice cream store and beg for a taste of your raspberry sherbert (I caved of course and made a friend for life!) It really is a unique island paradise. I'm going back this year and I hope to see you all there!

Bonaire EcoSwim 2003

The Entry Form and Information for the 2003 Bonaire EcoSwim is now posted on this web page:
http://www.randynutt.com/aqua9.html

Online registration is also available.

The Dutch Caribbean Island of Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles is located 50 miles north of Venezuela and 30 miles from Curacao. The island is 24 miles long by 3-7 miles wide. Bonaire has earned its reputation as one of the world's most beautiful dive locations. Now it is the site of a spectacular open water swim!

Located outside the hurricane belt, Bonaire's average temperature is 82 F (27.8 C) with an average water temperature of 80 F (26.7 C). The diligent stewardship of its marine resources has created a water lover’s paradise. Approximately 60% of the Island and 100 % of nearby Klein Bonaire are National Park. Families of donkeys roam freely in fields and along roads, nibbling on grass. All of the waters off Bonaire's coast have been legally protected since 1979. Come for the swim but also enjoy these other world class adventures and activities: free-diving; scuba diving; mountain biking; sea kayaking; wind surfing; bird watching; and stargazing.

Caribbean Swimming

With the Hurricane season winding down and the cold
fronts just around the corner, the Caribbean is looking very enticing. We hope
you make plans to join us in St Croix for the Coral Reef Swim and/or the Bonaire
EcoSwim. It's not too late -we have room for you in both events!

Olympian Misty Hyman is entering the 5 Mile Coral Reef Swim along with defending
Champion Alex Kostich. Everyone who completes the swim will feel a sense of
excitement while enjoying the beautiful view along the course.

Entering the Bonaire EcoSwim this year is actress Alexandra Paul. Alexandra has
starred in more than 50 films and is best known for her role in the hit TV
series “Baywatch”. She is also an accomplished athlete having completed the
Ironman World Championships in 1997. On November 6th 2004 she will test her
mettle as an open water swimmer in the 10K distance division. With her
dedication to excellence we know she will be a success.

Info & Entry www.aquamoonadventures.com

Hope to see you on the islands!
