Thumbs up 2004 LCM SW Zone / SPMA Championships - We Want YOU!

We, the Mission Viejo Nadadores masters are gearing up for The 2004 LCM SW Zone / SPMA Championships at the end of July.

If you want to spend a few days in sunny Southern California and see and swim at the facility that is going to be hosting the 2005 LCM nationals, please come and visit us.

We are planing on organizing this meet as if it was mini-nationals... a test run of sorts . It should be a fast and fun meet. Aside from fast swims, we're planing on having souvenirs, giveways, raffles, hospitality facilities and a social event.
A list of hotels offering block (we hope) accomodations will be available soon, as well as some information showcasing the area, and attractions worth visiting around here.

We've set up an information webpage for this meet.
http://mastersmvnswim.org/2004SWZone.htm
keep an eye on this page, as there will be more and more coming.

Please remember that you don't need to be the member of SW Zone or the SPMA to swim at this event, these are open to all USMS swimmers.

Go ahead, plan that California Vacation!

I swam at the Mission Viejo SCY meet today. Facilities are looking great. Over 200 swimmers, SPMA is getting better all the time, one of the best meets in a long time.

Like she said there were prizes for heet winners, so I did'nt win any.

Those of you aging up in 2005 should come and see a great facility.

Maximum of 5 events per day, 8 events total for three day meet, excluding relays.
We're also making on-line entries available after June 1st.

Planning a very cool social event on a saturday evening.

Unofficial word has it will be a carbo-loading pasta party with an open bar at a golf/country club and a live band. Fun and relaxing, with indoor and outdoor seating on a nice warm summer night.
Sounds expensive, but it won't be, since we have sponsors chipping in
Rreally don't wanna miss that... our team knows how to PARTY!
Sorry, we had to limit the social to 75 people, so, register early!!!

Fast pool, lots of shade and room on the bleachers. Two warmup pools, lot of grass areas for tents and lounging around. Brand new restrooms!

Discount rates for blocks of hotel rooms are in the process of being secured. Extend your stay, bring your family, take an extra day to visit Disneyland or San Diego or the beaches... there is lots to do and see down here.

Come and have a swim in the infamous "Animal Lane"

I'll have some pictures of the facility from this last meet online tomorrow!

Visit out website for more information: www.mastersmvnswim.org

Oh, here are some pictures from the last years Zone meet:
http://mastersmvnswim.org/images/200...0Zone/MVNM.htm

SEE YOU ALL THERE!

They even have a very good ONLINE entry form. They are using PayPal, but lets face it, anyone without a PayPal account is in the DARK ages, Pre-eBay, you know, back when people paid retail for everything.

Actually, People do not need to have a pay pal account to pay through pay pal for our zone meet, just a credit card.

People with pay pal account CAN use their account if they wish.

Those without a Pay Pal account do not need to sugn up for a new account, as our team paypal account is the mercahnt type account, and it accepts straight out credit cards.

REMINDER!!!
Tomorrow is the last day to enter without the late fee!

Hi Rob,
I'm, so sorry I didn't see your post sooner.
With the entry deadline so close to the start of the meet, I was up to my ears in meet entries up untill couple of days before the meet.
If I remember right we posted the timeline and psych sheets on tuesday... about 3 days before the meet.
I wish we were able to do it sooner... With the late postmark deadline being wednsday the previous week, we were still getting valid meet entries in Monday's US Mail.

We also went through a number of courtesy calls t opeople whose entries had odd times... like 4:15.06 for 800 free etc... Giving people a chance to revieew their times.
I'm sure not everyone was 100% happy, but we tried to accomodate as many as possible.

No big deal. I eventually fonud them..

A copy of a note that Cindy sent to Mark that I would like to share with everyone and one that I and all of the Colorado folks agree with...

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Mark!

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for a great meet this past weekend. I know there were many, many people involved in making this a success; please pass on my appreciation to each of them. I have never had the pleasure of swimming at Mission Viejo and found it to be everything all my friends had described. The steel drum band was such a nice touch! The shave ice was very welcome when it got hot! The setting for the social was inviting after a day in the sun. The four of us land-locked Coloradoans even had time to enjoy a bit of body surfing at Salt Creek Beach afterwards yesterday thanks to great directions from Mike Collins.

Cindy

----------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks a ton for a great meet, and a great time! No offense to what I am sure will be a great meet in Savannah, but I had to choose between this meet and Savannah, and I am very pleased with the choice I made. I wonder.. Will you be having this meet next year with MVN hosting LC nats next summer? I know it's a ways off, but it's just a thought that crossed my mind. Great to finally meet you and Wayne as well!

Rob
