Would like to have for National Meets
I would like to see the upcoming heat sheets posted on the web so I could better time my return to the pool. I know there might be some question as to how this could be accomplished, but I'm sure that there is a way. I would be willing to donate a scanner if that would allow my request to be done. Given that the next meet is in Arizona, I am really hopeful we could try it there. |

Thanks Tom, but I can't take credit for the real-time results at nationals. Tom Taylor of Hy-Tek offered this service because the feature is built into their Meet Manager Pro product. All I did was allocate a user account and space on the server for him to use.
I like your suggestion about posting heat sheets as they are made available, but don't know if we can do it logistically. We do have the ability to provide psych sheets OR heat sheets for the entire meet by uploading a new data file to the database for the entire meet. This is only done prior to the meet today because it uses different tools than the on-deck computer operator has available. In general, that computer operator is so busy running the meet that their focus has to be on running things smoothly through Meet Manager only. We don't want them jumping around to different tool sets and potentially not keeping up with the meet progress as a result. I will keep my eyes open to see if there is an opportunity to do something, but can't promise anything at this point. I'll mention it to Tom also, just in case he has the ability to quickly upload the heat sheet through his existing tool set once an event has been seeded. |

I put a request into Hy-Tek about a year ago asking for the ability for the Real-Time results feature to be able to upload heat sheets for events that have not swum yet. I don't think it's progressed up the chain at all.
For those coming to the NEM SCY champs at the end of this month, we plan to have real-time results available on any cell phone or mobile device that has a WAP web browser in it. -Rick |
