View Full Version : Need a place to swim in Destin area

I'm going to Destin, FL for spring break!! :D
I was wondering if anyone knew of a team, Masters or USS, that I could swim with a few times during my stay. Any suggestions?

According to the USA Swimming web site Maverick Aquatics (Ft. Walton Beach) is in the area. Their web site is www.maverickaquatics.com
I assume they work out at the YMCA – Fort Walton Beach, Florida

And, unless I’m mistaken, there is an excellent body of water, the Gulf of Mexico, within spitting distance from Destin. Why be confined in a pool, when you can do real swimming?

Thanks Rob! I will try to contact Maverick Aquatics. I will definitely TRY to swim in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico! I'm just afraid it may be too cold in early April and I don't have a wetsuit! I usually "swim to the Jettes" and back from where I stay. It is a BEAUTIFUL beach with clear blue-green water. Maybe it will be warm or I can borrow a friend's wetsuit! Thanks again!

bumping this in case anyone else has anymore ideas for the destin/pensacola region.
