To Michigan Masters, Michigan LMSC, USMS, and all AAU swimmers from the past.

Bob Heritier passed away on April 25, 2016 at 87 years old. He is one of the founding members of the Michigan Masters Club and started a masters team at the Detroit Athletic Club in 1973. Bob is a 10 time USMS All American with 22 Number 1 swims in his masters career. He attended all of the USMS National Championships from 1974 until 2000 except one in 1989 in North Dakota. He set 4 USMS National Records and 2 FINA World Records.

In 1980, he received the Michigan Masters Chetrick Award for outstanding service to the Michigan LMSC. In 1997, he received the Michigan Masters Lawrence Award for outstanding swimming performances in National competition representing Michigan Masters. In 2003, he received the Michigan Masters Lifetime Achievement Award from the Michigan LMSC for contributions at both the local and national levels of USMS. Thank you very much, Skip, for putting up Bob Heritier's obituary. So sorry we missed his funeral. He was a special man; swam with him a few ties at Detroit Boat Club. Hope you can do something special for him at banquet, on newsletter, as you did, I think for Edie Glusak. Jp
