  1. 6|25|20 LCM recovery swim

    Warmup: ~75M
Swim: 2000m of bk with surf fins 35:40
    Warmdown: 100 kick

I will be extra slow now for my 50’s on 3:00 next workout, but doing this every so often I believe helps in long run

400 m barefoot sprint on soft track 1:21+

Will start to include drylands in the blog as my training becomes less fake. Training for SCM 6 months from now.

Waited 30 minutes for a spot to swim. Spent the time doing drylands -push-ups, pullups, and #25 high rep DB shoulder presses

    6 x 50 as 20.3m 6-7UWDK +2-3 fr strokes / ez bk to wall
    5 x 20.3m 6-7UWDK +2-3 fr strokes on much rest
    • did 12’s and up

    2 x 50 flutter kick kinda fast

Discovered my own little secret tip (dryland activity) that utilizes muscle control in order to maintain a tight neutral position used for primary UW’s as well as all other swimming to lesser extents. Balancing yourself upside down on one of those yoga shoulder platforms found on amazon. Regular handstands work too, but are a little too demanding to concentrate right

Srdan is going to think I am full of it, since I just griped to him yesterday that I was "100-ed out" after Saturday's set. The club team was basically doing their own version of 6x100 @ 6:00. I wasn't about to repeat the set, so I tried to "jazz" it up a little bit. The aim was to not give my legs a rest, but still let them get "flushed" of lactic acid with the 100 smooth kick. Meanwhile my arms had to just sit there and bake. It worked pretty well. Definitely plan to recover tomorrow

Man I felt stale today. I forgot to ice and rehab on Sunday, and so I came in today not feeling very sharp. The club team actually did the above set twice through, and maybe if I had selected the second intervals (1:20/:40/:45) I might have made it through the second round. But one round on the fast intervals left me gassed.

I had planned to do an easy recovery practice, but that 100/200/300 set was like right in my wheelhouse. Riddle me this, does the fact that I trained for 8 straight weeks when the club team couldn’t excuse the fact that I was one of only four swimmers who made this whole set? Or did it really look that bad that the 35.5 year old took most of them to the cleaners? Either way, felt great today
