I certainly swam times that the clock said were OK, but I still was feeling pretty smoked/burnt for my broken mile test set:
- Warmup sets (1500):
- 1 x 300: 50 free, 200 IM k/d, 50 free
- 5 x 150: on 2:30, Indiana IMs
- 5 x 50: on 0:45, descend to target 1500 pace (0:34), went pretty much 0:33 to 0:35
- 2 x (4 x 25): on 0:30,
- 25s in sets of 4 (DPS, spin, Fast from blocks, float)
- Broken Mile:
- 3 x 50 - 2 x 100 - 2 x 150 - 1 x 200 - 2 x 150 - 2 x 100 - 3 x 50 on 1:30/100 pace
- Aim to hold 1:08s for target 17:00 1500 time
- Add up was 17:15, which was an improvement over last month's 17:22+ and January's 17:34+, but it felt so crummy and sloppy that I'm not all that happy with it
- 6 x 50: 2 each pull free on 0:40, 0:45, 0:50
- I then intended to do 8 x 50 w/long fins kick, but only got through 4 before my legs just cramped too much
TOTAL: 3,500 SCM
Commentary:
- 6 weeks and 1 day before Nationals ... plenty of time to get the fried feeling out of my weary muscles
