went up to Kino for the AM masters swim workout
we were in the main pool (SCY)
Paul coached

200 w/u

more warm-up sets:
500, broken every 100 for 10 sec
300 neg split

main sets:
5 x 100 @ 1:45, hold pace (held 1:15 to 1:17)
400 build
5 x 100 @ 1:40, same pace (I actually did)
500 strong
5 x 100 @ 1:30, hold same pace (again I did)
500 strong kick (used fins + board)

200 w/d

TTL: 4100 yards

water felt really great again. yea some people complained that it was cold, but I know that before we know it the water will be warm... hoping we can hang onto decent temps for a while

I led my lane (of 4, mostly) for most of the set. on the 500 strong a gal put on paddles, I stopped to let her pass at the 250, so didn't get my time. not a big deal, but Paul asked our times when we finished.

I can't believe I did a 500 kick. my legs weren't feeling too good after riding yesterday, but I managed to do it. concentrated on 2-3 dolphin kicks off of each wall.




I had planned to go to the gym, but my cold/allergies still aren't back where I'd like to be. I want to ride in the morning, and want to be well for the lake swim on Sat. I haven't yet registered, but think I'll register for both the 4,000 and 2,000m options. my FLOG has been a little behind (3 miles today), and that should catch me up.
