Zip-less and fizz-less

I guess I probably should've loaded my water bottle with a whack of Zipfizz as there was nothing frothy or fresh about my attempt at my Zipfizz 200 workout -
Warmup Sets (1,000)
- 1 x 200: IM, kick-drill by 25
- 4 x 50: on 0:55, dolphin-flutter kick
- 4 x 100: on 1:30, free swim, descend from ~1:21 to ~1:11
- 4 x 50: on 1:15, going 25 fast from blocks (IM order) - 25 easy
Zipfizz 200s (2,000 set / 3,00 total)
The goal here is to really challenge yourself aerobically on the first set of 200s with an interval that is the fastest you can make 5 x 200s free on with high intensity. As the number of repeats get shorter and the rest more generous, the aim to get faster. I really accomplished neither and bailed on the last one.
- 5 x 200: on 2:35, w/buoy and paddles
- I thought based on last Sunday's test set that I'd be able to hit ~2:24s
- Was 2:25, 2:27, 2:27, 2:29,2:31
- 4 x 50: active recovery on 0:45, 0:50, 1:00, 1:30
- 3 x 200: on 2:50, supposed to be descend
- Was 2:32, 2:34, 2:37 ... just swimming and struggling
- 4 x 50: active recovery on 0:45, 0:50, 1:00, 1:30
- was supposed to do one more 200 FAST, but I called it a day
TOTAL: 3,000 SCM
Comments:
- After the 3 x 300 test set illusion of not being too out of shape from my vacation, I read my body's message loud and clear: I've got a slog to get back to fighting form!
