Job Summary
Responsible for teaching adults how to swim at Texas Ford Aquatics.
A Part-Time position.

Texas Ford Aquatics is looking for knowledgable and energetic instructors who are excited to work with adults who are learning to swim. The Adult Lessons program is made up of adults 18 & older who are just learning to swim for the first time. Almost 40% of adults cannot finish the full length of a pool, our goal is to reduce that number in our community. Instructors will learn about the swimming business and have the opportunity to assist in event operations and other projects.

The position includes working alongside and with the USMS 2019 Club Of The Year, Texas Ford Aquatics Masters. The pool is available for adult lessons starting at 5:15 am until 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. Individual schedules will vary. Adult Lessons Instructors will help support the Adult Programs at TFA by becoming model instructors for other instructors and Adult Programs across the country.

Responsibilities and Duties

Includes but are not limited to:
Abide by the U.S. Masters Swimming Code of Conduct, the USA Swimming Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies, and Texas Ford Aquatics policies and procedures.
Be supportive of the overall philosophy and direction of the Adult Programs at TFA.
Assist with other Adult Programs and Events at TFA.
Ensure the safety of all participants.
Meet and promote Adult Program standards.
Assist with pool set up and lane changes.
Ensure the facility is clean and maintained.
Communicate to the webmaster any changes or updates for the Adult Lessons webpages.
Report all safety or maintenance issues to the Facility Manager.
Communicate regularly with staff and members.
Attend and participate in all Adult Programs Staff Meetings.
Develop and refine skill progressions.
Help members progress towards their desired goal, or into Pre-Masters.
Model proper attire, language, demeanor, and sportsmanship for students.
Exhibit a passion for helping swimmers maximize their potential daily.
Pursue USMS ALTS Certification.
Help with advertising, promotions, social media, and overall online presence for Adult Lessons and the Adult Programs at TFA.
Maintain a culture that celebrates growth, progress, friendship, and fun!
Instruct adults to swim with the highest level of professionalism
Take Attendance
Notes on skills and progress for each student.
Recruit more students and instructors, help grow the program.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

Must be at least 18 years old
Instructors must have Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
Instructors will be familiar with the basic stroke mechanics and drills for all four competitive strokes.
Know several teaching points for each stage of the learning process for each skill.
Coaches will understand and utilize progression teaching for skill instruction.
Know how to use G-Suite and other software as needed.
Have excellent human relations skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must have a great sense of humor, and the ability to never stop learning.

Texas Ford Aquatics is located in Frisco, TX. The pool opened in the fall of 2014. TFA is coach owned and operated; the entrepreneurial spirit thrives at TFA. Adult Lessons Instructors report to the Adult Lessons Supervisor.
