We're abotu the same. We've moved up from 46th. Per NY Times, you are 45th. That's one dose. % distributed or % with both doses may be different.
Mom has her first shot scheduled for the 18th, I hope and assume Lin will be at about the same time. Glad they lowered the age below 75 so Mom could get hers earlier. Gotta admit, after having at least four friends (that I know of) who have lost parents their age to COVID, that date can't get here quickly enough. Two were HS classmates, whose parents I believe both lived in Griffin.
I hope they both get their vaccines very soon! Bruce gets his second dose on the 23rd, thankfully, because he is 71. Spalding County cases and deaths are through the roof! Check out these up-to-date numbers for comparison:
Spalding County Population = 67,895 +/-
Spalding County Cases = 3,490
Spalding County Deaths = 119 ( two more died yesterday)
New Zealand Population = 4,822,233 +/-
New Zealand Cases = 2,328
New Zealand Deaths = 25

Wow, that is pretty bad. We are 546 deaths, but that's only 116 per 100,000 people, so notably lower than Spalding. But, we have had 45,000 cases, which is about twice as many per 100,000 as Spalding!
My youngest got contact traced. Someone at swim practice. &^*%ing person showed up coughing and practiced (Thursday). Lane next to 67Prince. Next day, tested positive. 3 days later on a Monday, they finally let the team know. Everyone else was fine, though, of all the kids who were contact traced (I mentioned this on another thread - anecdotally, the chlorine seems to be a very inhospitable environment for the virus) did have to miss 7 (w/ negative test) to 10 days (w/o test) of practice. Really hoping we don't have to deal wtih that any more. One of my daughters has missed most of this year due to eye surgeries, a concussion, then schoolwork from falling behind from missing so much. Trying to get back in shape to ahve a decent run at State. She may be the #1 seed in the 100 Fly. A quarantine would kill that.
Wow, that's a lot of cases! It has been a massive failure in both of our states. Did you hear about the huge cheerleading competition that was allowed to take place in Atlanta? Gov. Kemp had an order in place against large gatherings, so I would like to know why this event took place. It was on the local and national NBC news yesterday, and the network is trying to get a statement from Kemp about it. No luck so far.
I'm just waiting to hear how many new COVID-19 cases come from the competition-- and, how many deaths there are as a result. There were a lot of parent escorts there, and I could see a lot of uncovered noses on camera when some of the parents were being interviewed. People STILL haven't gotten the memo that you have a greater chance of contracting the virus through the more-sensitive nose than through the mouth!
Regarding Prince and Princess, yes, I read your other posts. (I still kept up with reading the threads during my suspension (). Hopefully, Prince's teammates and their parents will be more responsible in the future... Best wishes to Princess! She's a hell of a swimmer!

And Illinois is even slower than you are??!!
I'm 75in April 7th and still can't even get an appointment here in Illinois!
That's strange.......NY Times has Illinois well ahead of both GA and TN (5th and 3rd worst, respectively). They have you at about 22nd best. But shoot, I know TN is giving shots to the 70 y/o population, and my mother (friends w/ Elaine, they live in same town!) is 73 and scheduled for this week.
I have applied to 5 sites now and am waiting for a call/text from any of them.
Getting my second vaccine tomorrow. My son in law got his second yesterday and 103 degree fever today.

Son in law recovered quickly. I had some chills and night sweats from the vaccination and a very sore shoulder

I hope that this is all that he gets from the shot. A small price to pay to be protected from the worst of Covid. I'm still trying to get a 1st shot.

I have dose 2 this afternoon. I don't have the time to write sub plans for tomorrow, so here's to hoping that I'm one of those folks with no side effects!
2nd! I'm jealous. Good for you.
Luckily Idaho prioritized teachers. I'm still fighting to get my 73 year old mother an appointment though.

Well, here are the latest rankings, and it's looking like our states are still owning spots in the cellar...
