The backstroke video was pretty far away. However, as you note, your start sucked.No matter, you'll get it next time. Did you have the squishy yellow pads? The first length and a half or so, it looked like you needed to put your head back a bit more, to lift the hips up. But then at the end you seemed to put it back more. Also, it's a 50. Arms should not be moving in slo-mo. Speed up the SR.
Your free and fly looked good. It did, as I think you noted earlier, look like you misjudged the finish a bit in fly. So hard to hit the wall right in fly ...

Fort: I SAID no comments on the start. Grrrrrrr. But you're right about the SR. In the race I don't feel like it's that slow but the video don't lie. Plus I need to really improve my underwater work. I came up way too early off the turn.

Sorry. I just couldn't resist. lol. My regular starts are not so great either. And this situation is not helped by the fact that my pool is closed for swim meets both weekends before my meet. Grrr.
Aside from being great fun, I think that monofin that's on your xmas list will help your underwater work significantly. Plus, great for the core and legs.
Monday: No workout, recovery from meet
Tuesday: No workout - had to go to work early, grrrrrrr
Wednesday - no practice on Wednesdays, GRRRRRRRRR.
Tomorrow: I'm swimming tomorrow come heck or high water, dammit.
OK, I have to confess. I'm a wuss. I find myself dropping out of sets when it starts to get tough. I have got to work on getting tougher mentally and pushing thru it. Otherwise I am just wasting my time and that is not what I want to do.

Hey man, you should have come over to UMD last night - we (ok, well, those of us who are physically able to do so) worked on breaststroke all evening. I did a lot of breast w/ dolphin kick and were my abs sore or what!
Work hard and keep yourself in the water as long as you can. If you find yourself dropping behind in a longer set, *consider* skipping a 50, only if you promise to do the entire rest of workout and make that 50 up at the end. Hang tight and deal with the pain and agony, and at some point in the next month, you WILL have a breakthrough where suddenly you find yourself w/ a second wind at the end. That is the best feeling.

OK, I was going to swim today but the weather was nicer than I had realized sooooo.
I played golf instead.
14 Hole walking carring my bag (quit after that cause it was getting cold).
I was +7 thru 12 but then the wind picked up and I started to tighten up and my hands were getting cold. Went Double-Double and decided it was getting too cold.
